At the Duke’s Festival, history comes to life. A balancing act between the past and the present. Visitors step into another world, leaving the stress and hustle and bustle behind. There’s historic bustle, but also a chance for reflection—a return to the roots of days gone by. A magical festival where everyone can enjoy happy times together. Of course, food and drink are also provided. Many masters, servants, and maids are hard at work preparing delicious specialties from days gone by and serving them—along with mead and wine—to hungry guests. Over the three days of the festival, music, juggling, and medieval theater guarantee an entertaining spectacle from days of yore. Music groups will perform historical music in the style of medieval minstrels. Visitors will witness how songs, dances, and melodies from ancient, handed-down sources—enriched by farces, jests, juggling acts, and sleight of hand—cast the old days in a new light.
